The 2008 Berlin International Music Festival & Academy (BIMFA) is to be held in Berlin, the centre of classical music.

During the aftermath of World War Two, Berlin became a city of two centres with the Berlin wall separating East from West. However since the fall of the wall, Berlin has once again become the centre of a reunited Germany, the political capital of the European Union, but also the heart of classical music, bringing together the East and West.

There are seven world-class orchestras in Berlin, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Staadt Opera under the directorship of Daniel Barenboim. In addition, there are three other opera houses including The Berlin National Opera, Deutsch Opera and Comishe Opera.

Even though Berlin has all the basic elements needed for being a centre of classical music, it does not have an international music festival.

As we are planning to host such a music festival in Berlin, we believe it would be a great way for Berlin to advertise its international status as one of the main cultural centres in the world.

The annual music festival is called The Berlin International Music Festival and Academy (BIMFA).
The first event is scheduled to take place from 29th July to 8th August 2008.

The teaching staff and musicians will be chosen from the highest of standards as the BIMFA will be presenting the world-class master-class and concerts for the people of Berlin and classical music lovers.

We believe that the BIMFA will be established as an annual event in Berlin, the capital of Germany where many famous composers lived, composed and performed their music.
